The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have officially announced the signing of promising middle forward Toni Mataele on a two-year deal, with the move set to begin in the 2027 NRL season.

Mataele, 23, will return to Manly after spending time with the Parramatta Eels, where he made his NRL debut. His arrival is expected to provide additional depth, athleticism and strength to the Sea Eagles’ forward pack as the club continues to build for the future.

The signing also represents a return to familiar territory for Mataele. Eight years ago, he helped Manly win the Harold Matthews Cup, playing in the centres during the club’s 2018 grand-final victory over Parramatta.

Manly head coach Kieran Foran has welcomed the new recruit and believes Mataele has significant potential to develop into an important player for the team.

With his move officially confirmed, Sea Eagles supporters will be eager to see what the young forward can bring when he begins his next chapter with the club in 2027.
