In a move nobody saw coming, the Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that Mario Lemieux, legendary former player, Hall of Famer, and former team owner, is returning to the organization as part of the senior coaching staff.
The unexpected news broke this morning at a press conference held at PPG Paints Arena. Lemieux, 60, walked on stage alongside Penguins General Manager Kyle Dubas and Head Coach Mike Sullivan, who appeared both honored and slightly stunned by the development.
