ACCEPTED DEALS: Indiana Pacers Power Forward Pascal Siakam Signs a Four-Year, $189.5M Max Contract Extension

In a major move that solidifies the Indiana Pacers’ long-term plans, All-Star forward Pascal Siakam has agreed to a four-year, $189.5 million max contract extension with the team, league sources confirmed on Saturday.

Siakam, who was acquired by Indiana in a midseason trade with the Toronto Raptors during the 2023-24 campaign, has become a central figure in the Pacers’ rise in the Eastern Conference. The 30-year-old played a crucial role in Indiana’s deep playoff run this past season, averaging 21.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while showcasing his signature versatility on both ends of the floor.

Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard called the deal a “pillar moment for the franchise,” emphasizing the team’s commitment to building around Siakam and rising star Tyrese Haliburton.

“Pascal is a proven champion, a leader on and off the court, and the kind of high-character player we want representing the Indiana Pacers,” said Pritchard. “His decision to commit to us speaks volumes about our direction.”

The contract extension, which will begin in the 2025-26 season, keeps Siakam in a Pacers uniform through the 2028-29 campaign. The deal includes a player option in the final year and contains annual incentives tied to All-NBA and team playoff performance.

Siakam, originally drafted 27th overall in 2016 by the Toronto Raptors, won an NBA championship in 2019 and was named an All-Star in 2020 and 2023. Known for his relentless motor, midrange finesse, and ability to guard multiple positions, Siakam has elevated Indiana’s pace-and-space offense and brought veteran leadership to a young core.

The Pacers now look to further strengthen their roster in free agency, with hopes of competing for the franchise’s first-ever NBA title.
