In a heartwarming show of community spirit, Canberra Raiders star Joe Tapine has officially launched the Raiders Tapine Foundation, an initiative dedicated to supporting children and families in need across the Canberra region.

At a special event held earlier this week, Tapine and the foundation announced a donation of $18,000 in scholarships to help disadvantaged students pursue their education. Alongside the scholarships, hundreds of children received school backpacks filled with essential supplies, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

The event, attended by Raiders teammates, community leaders, and local families, celebrated the importance of giving back and investing in future generations. Tapine shared his motivation behind the foundation, saying:

> “I’ve been fortunate in my career, and I want to use that platform to make a real difference. Education opens doors, and if we can ease the burden for families doing it tough, then we’re doing our part as a club and a community.”
