In a move that’s sending shockwaves through the sports and entertainment world, Netflix has officially announced the release of “The Underdog,” a powerful and intimate documentary chronicling the life and rise of Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum. The film is set to premiere globally on July 15, 2025.

Directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay and produced in collaboration with UNINTERRUPTED and SpringHill Company, “The Underdog” takes viewers behind the scenes of Tatum’s journey from St. Louis prodigy to NBA All-Star and 2024 NBA Finals MVP.
