Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry have once again demonstrated their deep commitment to social impact by announcing they have donated their entire $12.9 million in recent bonus and sponsorship earnings to support homelessness relief in the Bay Area.

Their remarkable gift will fund the construction of 150 permanent housing units and provide 300 new shelter beds, forming part of a broader initiative to reduce chronic homelessness and address urgent shelter shortages in Oakland, San Francisco, and surrounding communities.

> “Growing up, I’ve seen firsthand the repercussions of homelessness,” Curry shared at the announcement press conference. “It’s not just about a roof over someone’s head—it’s about dignity, safety, opportunity, and the chance to rebuild. We’re humbled to play a part in that.”

The initiative is being coordinated in partnership with Eat. Learn. Play., the foundation the Currys co-founded in 2019, which has focused on food security, early childhood education, and safe play spaces. This new push marks the foundation’s largest single commitment to housing to date.

Ayesha Curry emphasized the holistic approach they want to bring to the issue:

According to project partners, the donation will enable:

Immediate construction of 150 transitional and affordable housing units.

Expansion of emergency shelter facilities by 300 beds across three cities.

Wraparound services, including mental health support, job training, and family counseling.

Local officials praised the Currys’ gift as a game-changing commitment at a time when Bay Area homelessness has reached crisis levels.
