England and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has shared a heartfelt reflection on how his relationship with Megan Davison began — and how it completely changed his perspective on life beyond football.
“When I first met Megan Davison, I’ll admit she wasn’t what I expected,” Pickford revealed. “My mind was fully on footy and I wasn’t looking for anything else.”
At the time, the shot-stopper was focused entirely on building his career, with little room for distractions. But something about Megan stood out immediately.
“She had this spark about her,” he continued. “She was confident, full of energy, and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind.”
Despite his initial uncertainty, Pickford explained that spending more time together made him realize just how special she was.
“At the time, I wasn’t sure how things would go, but the more I got to know her, the more I realized how special she is,” he said.
Though he didn’t elaborate further, fans have long admired the couple’s strong bond, which has grown alongside Pickford’s rise in football. From early days in his career to representing England on the biggest stages, Megan has remained a constant source of support.
The couple, who have been together since their teenage years, are now married and share a family — a journey that Pickford now looks back on with gratitude.
“It’s funny how life works,” he added. “Sometimes the things you’re not looking for turn out to be exactly what you need.”
