In a landmark move ensuring its continued presence in the heart of the city, Rosati-Kain Academy has officially signed a long-term lease to remain at its historic campus on Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis’ Central West End.

Under the new agreement, finalized earlier today, the all-girls Catholic high school will remain on the property it has occupied for more than a century. The lease was signed with the Archdiocese of St. Louis, which had previously announced plans to close or consolidate several schools in the area as part of a broader restructuring initiative.

The lease guarantees Rosati-Kain Academy long-term stability and operational independence — a major milestone for the school, which transitioned into a private Catholic institution in 2023 following its removal from the Archdiocesan school system.

“This is more than just a lease. It’s a promise to our students, our families, and our city that Rosati-Kain is here to stay,” said President Dr. Tammy Temple at a celebratory press conference held on campus. “We’re thrilled to continue our legacy of empowering young women through academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community leadership.”

The long-anticipated deal also includes provisions for future campus improvements and increased community partnerships, opening the door for expanded programming and outreach. School officials say enrollment has remained strong despite last year’s uncertainty, with applications for the 2025–26 school year exceeding expectations.

Alumnae, faculty, and current students gathered to mark the occasion with music, prayer, and a symbolic ribbon-tying ceremony, representing the binding of generations past, present, and future.

“Rosati-Kain is more than a school — it’s a family,” said senior student council president Maya Johnson. “Today’s news makes sure that legacy continues for the next 100 years.”

With its future secured, Rosati-Kain Academy plans to launch a capital campaign later this year to support building upgrades and scholarship funding.
