The New York Knicks are reportedly targeting former Boston Celtics sharpshooter Matt Ryan as they look to bolster their perimeter shooting. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Knicks have serious interest in signing Ryan, who is currently a free agent. Ryan, a 6-foot-7 wing, has demonstrated impressive three-point shooting ability, making 45.1% of his attempts with the New Orleans Pelicans last season. He previously spent time with the Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, and Minnesota Timberwolves, showcasing his value as a reliable shooter off the bench .

The Knicks’ interest in Ryan intensified following an injury to guard Landry Shamet, which left the team seeking additional shooting depth. Ryan’s career 41.1% shooting from beyond the arc aligns with the Knicks’ need for a consistent perimeter threat. His potential addition could provide the team with a much-needed boost in spacing and scoring ability .

As the Knicks aim to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season, Ryan’s sharpshooting prowess makes him a compelling target. If the Knicks can finalize a deal, Ryan could become a key contributor to their offensive strategy, offering a reliable option from the three-point line.
