The $12.9 million contribution will reportedly fund the development of:
150 affordable housing units for individuals and families experiencing homelessness
40 emergency shelter beds to provide immediate short-term accommodation
On-site mental health services, job training support, and rehabilitation programs
The initiative, in partnership with local housing charities and Birmingham City officials, is expected to break ground later this year. Community leaders describe the project as one of the largest privately funded homelessness interventions in the region’s recent history.
